Visiting Greece on a Budget
Who would have told us that we would start our full-time travel journey in Greece? The plan changed like three times in a few days, however, we couldn’t be any more glad to start in a country where the modern mind comes head to head with ancient history. Visiting Greece on a budget can be a bit tricky at times, however, with some pre-planning it’s totally doable especially if you avoid spending too much time (and money) in the major touristic spots!
Just like when you say ‘spicy’ you think of Mexican, when you say ‘history’ you MUST think about Athens. The city holds a story-line that goes back to thousands of years, with the majority of the remains evident and situated all around the city. But apart from history, Athens hold a cuisine to die for – especially street food such as the gyros, falafel and that lovely lukumádes.
Which Greek islands would you opt to go to if you had the chance to visit? We’re almost certain that most of you (us included!) would choose islands like Santorini or Mykonos. Why not? They both are a dream to even step a foot on!
